"Binalik lang yung dating gawi, yung kung papaano kami maglaro, paano kami mag-usap, kasi medyo nawala eh. Yung sarili lang po namin yung kalaban namin." - Hatred when asked about their preparations for Week 2.
Two teams who are donning the golden colors are having two different stories. ONIC Philippines continues to find their way back into the winning column to start things off well for Week 2. On the other hand, BREN Esports still looking for their first win. The battle of the brightest squads has commenced and the two are expected to not back down.
Both roamers wanted to put pressure on their opposing junglers for the first game. Fortunately for ONIC, it was immediately a first blood kill for Kairi- but Saxa did not necessarily fall behind. They exchange ONIC's kills with objective taking that provided them more than a thousand gold lead. But even so, the World's #2 managed to apply remedy to the wounds and take turrets and kills of their own. Elite positioning and allocation of skills got them to equalize in gold. Speaking of gold, it started slipping away from BREN as soon as ONIC's Markyyyyy joined in pushing the other lanes after obtaining the necessary items. Kairi followed suit in dealing damage to the other BREN members who were on their defensive stance. ONIC obtained their first inhibitor turret takedown at the 13th minute, and almost used deceptive play to take the crystal out- but BREN just made it in time to shoo the ONIC jungler away. Eventually, it was ONIC that managed to build on their early-game momentum and locked in for the first game win.
The second game started different as both teams were able to cover the same ground and their gaps from their last match. BREN continues to get the turtle objectives and ONIC doesn't seem to really care about it since they will immediately work on picking them off after the objective is taken. BREN worked on this battle with a triple Avarice on Joy Boy, Flap, and Super Marco to keep scaling and provide all the resources to their jungler. They were able to secure the first Lord of the game, but they had to sacrifice four in the process to close it all out- which gave ONIC a boost to their momentum. At the 13th minute of the match, an entry point for BREN was a trap laid down by ONIC as they eliminated two to take the Luminous Lord and widened the gap against their struggling opponent.
As the fight continues to drag on, the opportunities for pickoff fall into the hands of ONIC as they were able to position themselves first- putting the members of BREN to a defensive position. They still have late-game insurance with Super Marco's Claude, but so does Markyyyyy's Beatrix. The overflowing burst of damage from the Hedgehogs was too much for BREN to handle, as they are left with another loss to their record.
