1. Award Points

Points given to each individual as a way to provide a quantifiable system that can be used to measure achievements and performance for more objective approach of selecting nominees and awardees for the 'Alamat Awards' system.

1.1 Performance Points

Points awarded based on the in-game ratings that the players receive throughout the season.

1.2 Totem Points

Points given to each individual based on the awards received by the individual during the season and will be used for the selection of succeeding awards for the season.

2. Award Committee Structure

Selected by the league, the Award Committee is responsible for nominating award candidates and voting to decide the award winners.

2.1 Nomination

  • Moonton League Ops is merely the one responsible for the nomination process. The aggregated award points (both performance and totem points) will be the basis for shortlisting the individuals to be nominated per award in the Tournament Category.
  • For Creative Category awards, nominations will be from as follows:
    • PR PIC for Best Media Award

 

2.2 Voting without Team Participation

If the selection process excludes team voting participation, the award committee structure will be as follows:

2.3 Voting with Team Participation

3. Tiebreaker

In the event of a tie in the voting process, the tiebreaker will be determined based on the following criteria:

  • The nominee with the highest cumulative score from the MPL-PH Talents will rank higher.
  • If a tie still exists, the nominee with the highest cumulative score from the MPL-PH Press Corps will rank higher.

 

II. Award Details

1. Tournament Category Awards

 1.1 MVP of the Game

  • Definition: This award is given to the standout player in a specific game, recognizing their exceptional performance and contribution to their team's success. The recipient of this award typically demonstrates outstanding skills and impact on the game's outcome.
  • Criteria: Five (5) players from the winning team in each game.
  • Selection: In-game feature (MVP feature) --- unless game obs want to recognize exceptional gameplays (e.g. A team won because of a crucial 5-man set of the roamer).

 

1.2 MVP of the Match

  • Definition: This award is presented to the player who delivers the most impactful performance in a particular match, showcasing exceptional skills, strategy, and influence on the games played. The winner is recognized for their significant contributions that lead to their team's success during that specific match.
  • Criteria: Five (5) players from the winning team in each match.
  • Selection: Aggregated performance points of the games played in that particular match.

1.3 MVP of the Week

  • Definition: This award is given to the player who has demonstrated outstanding performance and influence over the course of a week. The recipient consistently excels in their games, showing exceptional skill and contributing to their team's success throughout that week.
  • Criteria: All players who have earned 'MVP of the Match' throughout the week.
  • Selection:
    • Three (3) players will be shortlisted as nominees based on the aggregated award points (performance points and totem points).
    • After identifying the three (3) nominees , the shortlisted individuals will undergo the Voting without Team Participation (see 4.2.).
    • Based on the voting results, the player with the highest votes will be selected as the MVP of the Week.
    • In case of a tie, refer to section 5 for the resolution process.

 

1.4 All-Star Teams (Team 1 and Team 2)

  • Definition: These awards recognize the top players in each role, selected for their exceptional performance throughout the season. Each All-Star Team consists of standout players, with Team 1 featuring the highest performers and Team 2 including additional top players. The selection is based on individual stats, impact in games, and overall contribution to their teams, with each award highlighting excellence within specific roles.
  • Criteria: Players from playoffs-participating teams.
  • Selection:
    • Five (5) players per role will be shortlisted as nominees based on the aggregated award points (performance points and totem points).
    • After identifying the five (5) nominees per role, the shortlisted individuals will undergo the Voting without Team Participation (see 4.2.).
    • Based on the voting results, the top players will be selected for All-Star Team 1 and All-Star Team 2.
    • All-Star Team 1 will consist of the highest-ranked players in each role.
    • All-Star Team 2 will include the next highest-ranked players for each role.
    • In case of a tie, refer to section 5 for the resolution process.

 

1.5 Fans' Choice All-Stars

  • Definition: The Fans' Choice All-Stars recognize the top players in each role based on fan voting. This award highlights exceptional performance and popularity throughout the season, with the single All-Star Team featuring the players who received the highest number of fan votes. It reflects players' influence, fan engagement, and overall contribution to their teams.
  • Criteria: Players from playoffs-participating teams.
  • Selection:
    • Five (5) players per role will be shortlisted as nominees based on the aggregated award points (performance points and totem points).
    • After identifying the five (5) nominees per role, the shortlisted individuals will undergo MPL website fan voting.
    • Based on fan voting results, players will be selected for the Fans' Choice All-Star Team, consisting of the highest-ranked players in each role according to fan votes.
    • In case of a tie, five (5) MPL-PH Talents will vote as the resolution process.

 

1.6 Most Improved Player of the Season

  • Definition: The Most Improved Player of the Season award recognizes the player who has shown the most significant progress and development in their performance compared to the previous season. This award highlights the player's dedication, hard work, and improvement, reflecting their enhanced skills, impact in games, and contribution to their team.
  • Criteria:
    • Player must have participated in the previous season.
    • Player must be from playoffs-participating teams.
    • Player must have attended at least 60% of their current team's regular season matches.
    • Selection:
    • Each coach from a playoffs-participating team will blindly nominate one player for the award.
    • After identifying all the nominated players, the nominees will be voted on by the voting committee with team participation voting (see 4.3.).
    • Based on the voting results, the player with the highest votes will be selected as the Most Improved Player of the Season.
    • In case of a tie, refer to section 5 for the resolution process.

 

1.7 Coaching Team of the Season

  • Definition: The Coaching Team of the Season award recognizes the coaching staff that has shown outstanding leadership, smart strategies, and a positive impact on their team’s performance throughout the season. This award highlights the coaches' dedication, innovation, META-making, and contribution to their team's success.
  • Criteria: Coaching team must be from playoffs-participating teams.
  • Selection:
    • Each MPL-PH Talent will blindly nominate one coaching team for the award.
    • After identifying all the nominated coaching teams, the nominees will be voted on by the voting committee with team participation voting (see 4.3.).
    • Based on the voting results, the coaching team with the highest votes will be selected as the Coaching Team of the Season.
    • In case of a tie, refer to section 5 for the resolution process.

 

1.8 Regular Season MVP

  • Definition: The Regular Season MVP award honors the player with the most outstanding performance and impact throughout the regular season. This award recognizes their exceptional contributions, consistency, and key role in their team's success.
  • Criteria: Players from playoffs-participating teams who won at least one (1) 'MVP of the Week' award
  • Selection:
    • Five (5) players will be shortlisted as nominees based on the aggregated award points (performance points and totem points)
    • After identifying the five (5) nominees , the shortlisted individuals will undergo Voting with Team Participation (see 4.3.).
    • Based on the voting results, the player with the highest votes will be selected as the Regular Season MVP.
    • In case of a tie, refer to section 5 for the resolution process.

 

1.9 Grand Finals MVP

  • Definition: The Grand Finals MVP award honors the player with the most outstanding performance in the Grand Finals, highlighting their crucial plays and significant impact on their team’s championship win.
  • Criteria: Five (5) players from the winning team of the season (MPL-PH Champion)
  • Selection: Selection process c/o GAB and PESO

 

2. Creative Category Awards

 

2.1 Best Media Award

Objective: Commemorate the members of the press who have greatly contributed to the growth of MLBB esports in the Philippines.

Criteria for nomination selection:
Media will be judged based on the following by the PR PIC:

  • Depth of reporting - The reporter should have exerted efforts to tell the unique and inspirational stories of the teams and players.
  • Consistency
    • The reporter should be able to report on the latest MLBB esports, gaming, and CSR events in a timely and consistent manner, with no records of bias.
    • The reporter/journalist should have been covering the MPL-PH since 2021, at least.
    • The reporter/journalist should have been covering Season 12 since the first week of the regular season.
  • Overall contribution - efforts in the esports and gaming scene that made an impact
  • Overall knowledge and expertise of the game - The reporter/journalist should have been playing MLBB since Season 24, at least, and has provided reviews and recommendations through articles, social media content, among others.

Voting process:

  • During the playoffs break, PR PIC will evaluate the writeups of the press for the whole season, considering as well the criteria set above.
  • PR PIC to provide a list of nominees and align with all modules. The document should contain reasons why they are worthy to be nominated. Each season, PR PIC will have a total of ten (10) nominees.
  • The voting will be done through fan voting - socmed team will announce on official channels the website page to be used for the voting. Media alert will be sent as well to encourage media to call for support from their readers.
