Smart Omega emphatically bounced back as it crushed the erstwhile streaking Onic PH, 2-0, in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Sunday night, May 2.

Veteran tank EJ “Heath” Esperanza dazzled in his first game back after a lengthy absence, leading Omega’s onslaught in Game 2 with his disruptive Hilda.

Heath provided plenty of information and vision across the map while soaking Onic’s damage in team fights which enabled Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo’s Pharsa to freely cast Feathered Air Strike and Salic “Hadjizy” Imam’s Granger to gun down enemy heroes.

Omega proceeded to wrap up the series with an easy 10-5 victory in 15 minutes.

Earlier in Game 1, Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira’s Yve and Kenneth Jiane “Kenji” Villa’s Gloo ignited the Season 6 runner-up’s 18-5 romp in 15 minutes.

KurtTzy’s Yve was the main damage dealer through the Real World Manipulation ultimate while Kenji’s Gloo was relentless in disrupting Onic’s rotation and tanking the opposing damage.

Omega rebounded from a painful 2-0 loss to Nexplay Esports on Saturday which was highlighted by the Game 2 heist from Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse and John Paul “H2wo” Salonga.

Coach Tony “Ynot” Senedrin’s boys also solidified their hold of No. 2 in Group with 17 points on an even 5-5 series record.

Onic’s four-game winning streak came to a screeching halt though it remained at No. 3 in Group A with 15 points and a superior head-to-head record against Bren Esports which also has 15 markers.
