Salic “Hadji” Imam had the best rebuttal to Setsuna “Akosi Dogie” Ignacio’s prediction after SIBOL won its second consecutive gold medal in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games.

“Shoutout nga pala kay Dogie, ikaw lang yung takot e,” said Hadji with a grin.

In a previous vlog, Dogie claimed that the SIBOL squad – bannered by members of M3 World champions Hadji, Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, and Johnmar “OhMyV33Nus” Villaluna – only has a 10-percent chance of winning the gold medal if they face Indonesia.

“Masakit ‘man ‘tong sabihin, ninety-percent hindi kaya mag-champion ng Blacklist [sa SEA Games] kapag nakatapat nila ang Indonesia,” the popular content creator said.

“Paano ko alam na walang chance ang Blacklist? Ang layo ng difference ng Indonesia ngayon. Nasa kanila ang pinakamalakas na META ngayon.”

SIBOL went on to sweep the group stage, posting an immaculate 6-0-6 standing to enter the semifinals as the top seed from Group A.

Then, the team averted a major collapse in the semis against Singapore before taking down the powerhouse Indonesia team via a 3-1 result which included a 10-minute beating in the title-clinching Game Four.

Social media erupted right after the win with Mobile Legends personalities and fans poking fun at Dogie’s claim.

Dogie also made sure to praise the team right after the win.

“That 10 percent is puso sa game and they executed it very well,” Dogie told the Manila Bulletin.

“As for Hadji, thank you sa shout out! Lakas! That was a good draft coming in from Bon Chan and Master the Basics and V33NUS. They did deserve that championship.”

Still, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang pioneer stood by what he said about the team’s chances in the Games, saying that he just stated his perspective of the game.

“At the end of the day, I just said my perspective of the game,” he said.

“One must hype the game to the fullest. Kahit maging kontrabida ako if it will put some excitement to the people, eagerness to watch and participate to the hype train, it’s a win-win situation.”
