A new light will shine for RSG PH.

RSG PH has bolstered its playoff chances for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Season 9 (MPL PH Season 9) after signing a promising young player in their ranks.

Former TNC roamer Dylan “Light” Catipon will adorn the blue and white jersey next season, the organization announced last Wednesday, January 12.

RSG PH shared the roster update on their Facebook page, announcing that the 19-year-old from Cavite is now part of the international esports organization, who also fields successful Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams in Singapore and Malaysia.

“We consider Light a strong and talented mechanical player. We believe that his addition to our roster will shine our path to the championship. He will be playing the Roaming position,” the organization wrote.

He will be alongside fellow veteran EJ “Heath” Esperanza in the roaming position, in a bid to overtake RSG PH’s 5-6th place finish last MPL PH Season 8.

Known by his previous in-game name “Unravel”, Light’s first appearance was in MPL PH Season 7 when his former team, Work Auster Force, secured a spot in the qualifiers.

Work Auster Force surprised many in their debut season by defeating veteran teams. During the playoffs, they managed to eliminate Nexplay Esports in the first round of the lower bracket before succumbing to Bren Esports.

When MPL PH announced it was implementing a franchise-based league in Season 8, Philippine esports giant TNC bought the whole Work Auster Force roster.

Unfortunately, the team didn’t perform as well, and failed to qualify to the playoffs after finishing last in the regular season. TNC went back to the drawing board and dropped majority of its players, including Light.
