It goes without saying that BLCK and OMG’s matchup will always be one of the best storylines in MPL PH’s history. We usually see them fight for the top spot but this time around they are fighting for the remaining spot for the play-offs. With OMG sitting at six and BLCK just one point behind this will be another chapter that will be added to this legendary story.
Being well aware of their competition a Valir pick was selected to hopefully shoo away a Karina pick by Raizen and the Barangay. It was a back and forth affair for the first few minutes of the game. With Raizen getting his fair share of objective takes. Kevier was also doing the same, but also tends to consider leaving the turtle to OMG given that the purple buff has been given more importance by the code breakers- which was one of the biggest winning conditions of Blacklist during their fights. The men in black and white managed to take a little bit of a lead
after clearing down one turret after another. Unfortunately for them, it was Chaknu’s blast from Lolita’s ultimate that paved the way for Omega to take three heroes and bring the game to an end. Chaknu and his macro-management have been absolutely enormous in giving them the victory from the mentioned rematch.
With OMG finally securing a play-off spot of their own. BLCK simply needed to do what must be done and depend everything to fate. Denying the Karina from Raizen this time the rookie jungler contributed three assists in the early stages and gave Blacklist more room to fight their way to victory. On the other hand another Xavier pick got into the hands of E2MAX to hopefully end it all for their opponents. The Lord at first level got into the hands of Omega thanks to Kelra’s bullets arriving at the right direction. The other members of BLCK was able to defend but the momentum clearly went to the hands of Omega during that fight. With the need of damage and positioning from the M3 champions there was a need for Kevier to step up and take action. Together with Edward and the Alecto: final blow, there were increased chances for them to be able to equalize. Locking on a Lord take kept the momentum going for Blacklist to hopefully take more turrets for safety. Still, Omega was still able to defend and keep their inhibitors from falling to the hands of BLCK. The veteran this time around stepped up and got in for business. With the dawning light inflicted to the whole land of dawn. It was Blacklist feeling the pressure once again but even so it was them showing heart to stay in the game for the 20th minute. Hadji made the right call to use the burst that they have in finding opportunities for them to strike. It was another long game with both teams throwing punches. An extra kick from Chaknu’s dragon ways safely gave OMG the lord in the 20 second minute, still it wasn’t enough to bring BLCK down. As they were still holding on even after the rampage brought about by OMG. The heart of a champion will always stand for a fourth consecutive time- which is why the barangay initiated to bring the lord again and add to their force with the same defense made by the defending champions. The final clash arrived at the side of Blacklist objective and ended all hope for Blacklist to qualify for the play-offs.
With this defeat the code breakers will not be able to break the code and defend the crown for MPL PH Season 9. And together with this win OMG will have a chance to defend their own crown in MSC if they make the grand finals of MPL PH this season.
