Blacklist became the second team to be hailed as back-to-back champions since Sunsparks did the feat in the MPL Seasons 4 and Season 5.

With the two Grand Finalists tied, 1-1, after the two games, Danerie ”Wise” Del Rosario, Jonmar “OhmyV33nus Villaluna and Finals MVP Salic “Hadji” Imam formed a deadly trio and took over the next three games for Blacklist.

OhmyV33nus set the tone for Blacklist in the series turning Game 3 with five early kills including a solo kill against Kairi’s Lancelot in the top lane. He then joined hands with Hadji on his Grock to keep the pressure to the side of Onic.

That aggression gave Wise the free reigns in the jungle area as his Bane quickly snowballed and wreaked havoc with a 7-2-6 performance to help Blacklist take a 2-1 lead

It was all Blacklist from that point as the defending champions utterly destroyed Onic PH in Game 4 with an impeccable 17-0 performance to take a commanding 3-1 lead.

OhmyV33nus and Hadji, who got their comfort picks Mathilda and Chou respectively, dictated the tempo with their early aggression allowing the team’s damage dealers in Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s Harith and Wise’s Bane to quickly get their core items

Oheb shone for Blacklist with his signature Harith unloading a 6-0-5 KDA to help his team blitzed Onic in just 11 minutes of play.

Blacklist then put on the finishing touches with Wise spearheading the attack with another perfect 10-0-5 showing on his Bane. OhmyV33nus was equally impressive with a 2-2-12 KDA as Blacklist finished off Onic with a 19-10 Game 4 win to cap a dominating Season with the title back to their hands.

It was a fitting end for Blacklist which set a record in the regular season with 11 straight victories en route to top seed finish in the eliminations with a 13-1 win-loss record.

However, it wasn’t an easy return to the promised land for Blacklist as it had to climb their way back to the Grand Finals through the lower bracket after losing to their rivals Omega Esports,3-1, in their upper bracket match.

The team displayed their poise and swept Nexplay Evos before exacting their revenge against Omega in the lower bracket finals with a dominant 3-1 victory to set up the Grand Finals showdown with Onic.

It was an intense first two games with the two squads trading punches and no team giving an inch to their opponents.

Blacklist drew first blood in the series with Hadji flexing his KDA Machine form on his mid-lane Yve.

Hadji dictated the team fights with his crowd control as he finished with an impressive 3-1-15 KDA and helped Blacklist draw first blood in the series with an 18-9 victory in 23 minutes of play.

Game 2 was a Marky “Markyyy” Capacio show for Onic. After securing his kills in the early game, Markyyy’s Natan was simply unstoppable with an 8-4-4. He carried his team during a huge team fight at the 15-minute mark where he completed a triple kill and a four-man wipe of Blacklist to help his team come out on top in Game 2, 16-14, and tie the series.
